OSHC For the Surrounding Region
At St Joseph's Mundingburra OSHC, we provide a home-like feeling where the children are provided with a sense of belonging. Each child has the opportunity to learn through play inside and outside; they have space to read, draw, paint and learn skills like sewing among other activities. The children have a large oval to run around on, a medium-sized spiderweb to explore and a playground to conquer.
Our room is licensed for 120, and we base our program on what the children would like to do and learn about while they continue to develop at their own pace. We offer lots of different opportunities for the children, including going to the movies, roller skating, visiting parks, and many other places. We also give the children the opportunity to try new skills like rugby, netball and learn about birds and other animals. At Mundingburra, all the educators are committed to and passionate about the inclusive care of your children.

How long have you worked in early childhood and/or education and care?
I have worked in the field for 25 years.
Why were you drawn to become an educator in early childhood/OSHC?
My introduction to early childhood OSHC started as an extra job. At the time, it was a side position and then with time, it grew into more as a result of wanting to be there for the children at OSHC and to make their time in our care as happy and enjoyable as possible. Over the years I have become more passionate about providing a space for children to have lots of fun while learning and fostering new ideas at OSHC.
What is your favourite thing about being a service leader/teacher (Director/Coordinator)?
My favourite thing about my position at our OSHC centre is the children I get to work with and their parents.
What is the best thing about your centre/kindergarten/OSHC?
I believe that the best thing about our OSHC centre is that it fosters an environment that feels like home to everyone - from the staff to the children being cared for and the families that utilise the service.
What is one thing that you tell all families?
The main thing that we always tell all families in the community is that our door is always open.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy reading and gardening. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
